Hotel Almost Very Acceptable Warsaw

13.44

Hotel Almost Very Acceptable, Warsaw.

Mostly grey surroundings. As I type the sun begins to shin e through clouds.

A good night in a bed that was not bumping about after 5.00 am, sat, read, saunerised, about to pack. Lobby call at 15.00.

Apparently one of our three buses took the long way round to get here. On leaving Slovenia, the road sign pointed right to Poland and left to Somewhere Else But It Ain't Poland. The driver turned left. This was a regrettable decision for all involved.

15.17 Satch Bus en route to venue.

I have been listening to Soundscapes from shows that were very badly received. Strangely, a lot of music sounds (to my biased ears) very powerful. Perhaps, as if the crowds didn't hear what was being played, rather than not liking what they were hearing.

23.24 Satch Bus.

A strong, generous audience in a sports hall. At least this venue is not the Warsaw Congress Hall, a gift from Uncle Joe to his chums the Polish people, a pit of terror and sonic hell.

Soundscapes: Steve & Billy both joined me, and stomped.

Steve's set was strong & well received; Joe's also. Highlight: Mr. Drummer doing some wonderful toms on Searching. The jam: lots of fun.
